May 24th, 2008

The Blue Ridge Rounders won first place in the old time band at Fiddler's Grove beating out some of the best bands in the southeast.
Josh Johnson won 2nd Runner-up on banjo after literally jumping out of the van upon arriving on the festival grounds to register for the banjo contest. He caught-up with the band a few moments later and when asked if he signed-up in time, said he had already played. Tip, don't let him warm-up or it is all over.

Amy will be be serving once again as an administrator at Mars Hill Old Time Week.

Bob will be teaching 'Intermediate Banjo' this year at the Mars Hill Old Time Music Week in Mars Hill, NC. (link)

Our CD release party was a success. Thanks to our friends and fans that came out to help celebrate with us (and a huge thanks to Shields F. for the great cd cover photos!).

The day after the cd release we all ran up to Stecoah Valley, NC where the Blue Ridge Rounders took first in the old-time band competition becoming the 2006 Mountain Music Champions. In the individual competitions: Amy took 2nd in fiddle; Bob took 2nd in mandolin, 3rd in fiddle, and 3rd in banjo; and Josh took 2nd in banjo.

Next up, performance at the Dixie Outpost north of Travelers Rest, SC. Come out for some great bbq and some rockin' old time music.

Well, we've done it. We've finally finished all of the hash and re-hash of artwork and music for the CD, sent it off to the manufacturer, and have got it back...it looks good, sounds good, and you need a copy. Send us an e-mail and we'll something out to you.

We'll be having our CD Release party on June 16th @ the Green Onion in downtown Landrum, SC.

"The Rounder Way"

The Blue Ridge Rounders are in the final stages of releasing their first CD, "The Rounder Way". The official release date is June 6th (also Josh's wedding anniversary) with a CD release party shortly there after at the Green Onion...we'll list the details here on the website.

Go ahead and get a jumpstart on hearing a couple of the new tunes out at the myspace website @ our myspace site. Check it out and let us know what you think.

I don't know if anyone got to hear us, but our King Pup radio performance was on the air last month. We were all excited about that.
